  • The speaker explained about global scenario of climate change and how principles of Gandhiji is relavant for the current era to mitigate energy crisis of the world, basics and advanced concepts of temperature, Humidity and monitoring it with help of microcontroller.
  • About 100 students attended the workshop.
  • Students were exposed to energy crises of the world.
  • Students were trained to assemble the Solar Urja Lamp.

Objective: To impart practical knowledge among students by creating science posters on different streams.
Summary Report :
  • Solution for Revolution – A inter divisional science poster competition for first year engineering students was organized on 15th of February 2020.
  • Students from all 11 divisions presented their posters in civil lab. The theme for the competition was 3 R’s is Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
  • All the posters were evaluated by respected Principal Ma’am. Students of division K were the winner of Solution for Revolution.

Outcome: The event turned to be fruit full in every sense. All the students got the opportunity to share their views and ideas related to science. This helped the students to increase the scientific attitude and boost their confidence.

Brief description of activity: An educational building construction is going on in the campus of Modern Engineering College Pune. This visit facilitate the students to get the knowledge of building materials and pollution involved in the manufacturing process of these construction materials. Also student get aware about types of buildings, construction processes and pollution related to it. The visit was a good experience satisfying the curiosity of engineering students and also helped in creating an environmental social awareness among them.

Educational Visit to R.O.Water Plant, Pune
Aim: To enhance the awareness of first year engineering students on societal need in health and safety,related with water for its conservation , reuse and austerity measures .
Venue:R.O.Water Desalination Plant of 2000LPH capacity, P.E.S.’s M.C.O.E. Pune
Date: 2/2/2019 to 8/2/2019
Conduct:
  • Our main purpose for this visit is to be familiar with practical knowledge of water treatment plant components. Also knowledge about how polluted water is being treated, so it is very much convenient to see all the practical and components in real time work environment
  • R.O.Water Desalination Plant in Modern Engineering College Pune,which is having 6 stages sand filtration, activated carbon filtration, precision filtration, fine filtration R.O. process and UV system was selected in view of the best resources available and befitting the course objectives of the first year engineering students.
  • All 11 Divisions of FE students were divided into Batches for visit. Since no. of students was significantly large, the visit to Plant area was planned by divided students into groups with adequate faculty resources. The entire conduct of visit was executed smoothly and as per the plan.
Outcome:
  • This visit was to enhance the knowledge of Water quality testing among the students and help them understand the process of converting raw water into drinking water. The visit was an informative experience satisfying the curiosity of engineering students and also helped in creating an environmental awareness among them.
  • The visit very closely supports the course objectives of IV, V and VI of “Basic Civil and Environmental Engineering” subject. The exposure offered was undoubtedly beyond the syllabus.

Brief description of activity: Exhibition of model is the F.E. level Technical activity. The event was planned and organized by the First Year Engineering and wherein FE students of all division participated enthusiastically in the exhibition of models like Sewage Treatment Plant, Food Pyramid, Cross Section of Road etc, and charts of the same topic. This activity is closely related to the academic pursuits within the framework of university syllabus and a little beyond.

Objective: To groom the overall personality of students and make them acquainted with the system of college.
Outcome: Students get acquainted with various skills and arts along with the system of institute.
Summary report: PES’s Modern College of Enginnering conducted three days induction program for first year engineering students. Modules like physical activity, creative arts & cultural activity, library orientation, Proficiency modules & Principal Address were covered in induction program. Subject for creative arts and cultural activity was Universal Human Values. This was exciting opportunity for students to kick-start their higher education life & explore various skills and arts to develop their personality.

Summary of the Activity/Event: Department of General Science of Modern College of Engineering Pune-05, organized the exhibition on Astronomy for all students from general science department on 24/8/2015 in the physics lab. On this occasion, college has invited Jyotirvidhya Parisanstha(known as JVP) to set up Astronomical Exhibition. He was the oldest association of amateur astronomers in India. The session was conducted by Students of First year and staff members. Almost 1100 students and staff members had given visit to exhibition. All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff were present at the occasion. models and posters of Hubble Space Telescope (HST), Astrosat, Thirty Meter Telescope(TMT),New Horizon, and James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has been displayed. Models are made in the ratio of 1:12 of actual.
Outcome: Teachers gave inspiration speeches in astronomy which is helpful for students for the rest of their life. Students got information and applications of telescope at present science life style.

Summary of the Activity/Event: Department of General Science of Modern College of Engineering Pune-05, organized the event of "SwatchataAbhiyan"was organized on 9th Jan 2016. F.E.students and Staff have participated in the SwatchataAbhiyan. Class room and labswere cleaned by students. Students took good initiative for this SwatchataAbhiyan. During the event staff members of general science department giving various ideas of wealth from waste. and how to avoid plastic.It is the good implemented to fulfill the vision and mission of clean India initiated by the Honorable prime minister Narendamodi. The event was beneficial for all the students & staff members.

Summary of the Activity/Event: Yoga session is arranged in PES’s Modern College of Engineering by FE (General science) department on INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY (21/06/2015) for general science staff and MBA staff. Mrs. Fulare and Mrs. Rikame were invited for yoga session. Mrs. Rikame is perusingYoga degree course in Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapith and Mrs. Fulare has done certificate course of yoga from Haridwar. They are practicing yoga for last 7 years.In yoga session Mrs.Rikame instructed and Mrs. Fulare demonstrated asanas. The activity was beneficial for all the staff member.
Outcome: Staff members learned benefits and some of the position of asanas which is helpful day-to-day life
