ACTIVITIES

Two Days Workshop on “How To Make Our Own Operating System”
Date & Day: 16th March and 17th March 2019 (Saturday & Sunday)



Objective :
To Learn
  • About Basic Architecture of OS and System Programming.
  • How To Install And Configure Packages to Make Linux OS.
Summary Report:
  • Two days’ workshop is organized by Department of Computer Engineering ,PES’s MCOE, Pune. Under FOSS Club In association with ACM.
  • The session was attended by 50+ students from TE & SE Computer Engineering Department. Faculty members of department also attended session.
  • Two days’ workshop of 12 hours covers Concepts 1) Compiler construction and the way they work 2) Linker/ Loader 3) Tools chain 4) Linux kernel construction 5) Kernel Build system.
  • Session was Interactive and Students have enjoyed hands session delivered by Mr.Yogesh Babar.
Outcome: Every participant able to
  • Know to steps To Make Our Own OS.
  • Install and Configure packages required to Make Own OS.
  • Illustrate Concept of System programming like Compiler, Assembler etc.

Session on technologies and screening of short film.
Date & Day: 12th January 2019, Saturday



Objective :

To develop students professional and social work values and ethics.

Summary of the Activity:

The children are thefuture of our country and they should emerge as citizens knowledgeable in the use of the information technology with the aim of pursuing higher education or entering the job market with relevant IT skills, keeping this in mind Session on technologies and screening of short film was organised under Code-Fiesta 2019 for around 25 students from Bhumi Foundation, an NGO, aged between 10-12.

Each student was provided pick up and drop bus service, certificate of participation, stationery and snacks.

Outcome:
  • Students got awareness about socioeconomic conditions of the community.
  • Students got an endeavor for the promotion of general social welfare, education and to act for the well-being of the community.
