The Institute has R & D cell with an objective to promote & encourage the research & Development activities for the social in large & in particular benefit of the academic progress. The R & D cell consists of the committee of members which include Director, Principal, Vice-Principal, Dean R & D cell, head of every department & interested faculty members of the departments. The cell provides a supportive environment to achieve excellent out comes from students and teaching faculties.
Electrical Engineering Research Center has been established in 2010. The objective of the Research Center is to provide an outstanding academic and research experience to students to prepare them to meet the needs and challenges of the 21st Century in the field of Electrical Engineering. The objective is extended to the commitment of providing state-of-the-art interactive education through innovation, cutting-edge research with real-world experience promoting industry-Institute interactions, projects and life-long learning. The research Center is well equipped with latest software such as MATLAB, Lab-VIEW and Modern equipments like process control kit, Harmonic Analyzer, Digital storage oscilloscope, etc. Also full time Professors are working as recognized guide in research center.
The department has received research project worth Rs. 13,13,725/- under AICTE-MODROB for two years.

Modern college of Engineering, Pune is one of the leading institutes in country actively contributing to education and research in the fields of engineering. The Department has been recognized by University of Pune as Research centre since 2012-13. The objective of the Research Centre is to provide a platform for researchers in the field of applied innovations and to increase the knowledge base of faculty leading to overall development of institute. The research centre involves eminent researchers / experts from various fields in the research activity to enhance quality. The research Centre is well equipped with latest software such as MATLAB, NS3, LabVIEW, SciLab etc. We are keen to see that our research makes a difference. Numbers of post-graduate students have completed their studies with projects integrated with research.
The center strives to provide academic inputs by eminent faculties, and excellent infrastructure in terms of laboratories, library and other facilities required for research and development activities along with collaboration with the Government, Research Funding Agencies and Industries.
The research center aims to promote and conduct research related activities for the overall development from a broad interdisciplinary perspective. To achieve this, various activities like National/International workshops, seminars, with the academicians and industrial delegates are organized for students, to discuss on specific topics from multifaceted angle.
The cell encourages research scholars to study different subjects and present/publish papers on specific topic duly supported by practical evidence.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the department actively contributing to Research and Development in the field of engineering. The Department has been recognized by the University as Research Centre since 2010-11. The objective of the Research Centre is to provide a platform for researchers in the field of applied innovations and to increase the knowledge base of faculty leading to overall development of institute. The research Centre is well equipped with latest softwares such as MATLAB, ANSYS 11.0, ANSYS 14.0 with CFD, MASTERCAM etc. The center is also equipped with open source tools such as Python, Arduino. We are keen to see that our research makes a difference.
Prof S. M. Ramnani has completed BCUD funded Research project. The project is about the installation of solar PV cells array of 3 kW capacity for charging UPS batteries. An array of batteries is getting charged by PV cells there by saving the electricity and indirectly controlling green house gases.

Under the umbrella of Progressive Education Society’s Modern College of Engineering, the research cell in MBA Department is constituted in the year 2012 vide Letter no.CA/3895, Dt. – 22/11/2012.
