About POSH Act, 2013
The POSH Act, 2013 is a law enacted by the Government of India to ensure a safe and secure working environment for women. It aims to prevent, prohibit, and redress cases of sexual harassment at the workplace.
Key Objectives:
• Protect women from sexual harassment at workplace
• Provide a formal complaint and redressal mechanism
• Ensure timely and fair inquiry
• Promote awareness and gender-sensitive work culture
What is Sexual Harassment?
As defined under the Act, sexual harassment includes:
• Unwelcome physical contact and advances
• Demand or request for sexual favours
• Sexually coloured remarks
• Showing pornography
• Any unwelcome verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature
About SHe-Box
SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box) is an online complaint portal launched by the Government of India.
Features:
• Enables women to file complaints online
• Applicable to both government and private organizations
• Complaint is forwarded to the concerned ICC
• Provides tracking of complaint status
How SHe-Box Works
- Register on the SHe-Box portal
- Submit complaint with details
- Complaint is sent to the respective organization
- ICC initiates inquiry

Who can file a complaint?
• Any woman (employee, student, intern, visitor)
• Whether working in organized or unorganized sector
• Including contractual or temporary workers
Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
As per the POSH Act, every institution must form an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
Role of ICC:
• Receive complaints of sexual harassment
• Conduct inquiry in a confidential manner
• Recommend actions based on findings
• Ensure justice within a defined timeframe
How to File a Complaint?
You may:

- Contact designated POSH coordinators of the institute
