Old Clothes Donation Drive

To bring the students and staff together to help the needy people.

Summary of the Activity/Event:
The activity was conducted in two phases; collection of old clothes from the students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the PES’s Modern College of Engineering, Pune. The collection phase was organized in the month of February. The collected clothes were handed over to the representatives of Goodwill India Foundation, Pune on 27th March, 2018 in Modern College of Engineering, Pune.

The drive has provided an opportunity to the students and staff members to help needy people by cloth donation.

Cleaning of river Mula-Mutha in Pune.

Summary of the Activity/Event:
River cleaning drive was organized by Rotary club including Rotaract clubs of city. Various student members participated in the activity. Student members of department Rotaract club also participated and assembled for cleaning the river starting from Mhatre bridge. The activity was conducted in the first half of the day.

Outcomes:
This drive helped students to develop social and environmental responsibility
The students also learned to work in team with good cooperation.

Entrepreneurship development – guest lecture

- To give the brief information about entrepreneurship development.
- To make students aware of the efforts and financial management for new startups.

Summary of the Activity/Event:
The Department arranged Entrepreneurship development guest lecture by above mentioned speaker for students of T.E. & B.E. Electrical. The session began at the scheduled time by introduction of the guest speaker. She along with her team has developed a startup, the process of which she shared with the students. They explained about the importance of team work, project finance and execution for startups. The students got an insight into actual efforts required for a startup

Outcomes:
The lecture helped students to have an insight into the practical aspects of startups and how they can become successful entrepreneurs.

Civil Services carrier guidance program

Summary of the Activity/Event:
The Department arranged Career guidance and GATE awareness seminar for students of B. E. Electrical.
The session began at the scheduled time by introduction of the guest speaker. Speaker Mr. Rishi Raj who is as IAS officer explained regarding various career options starting from public sector to Engineering Services and Indian Administration services.
He shared his experience regarding his failure to join NTPC even though he had obtained AIR 5 in GATE exam and then his travel up to IAS. It was really inspirational for interested students of all branches.

Outcomes:
- Students were able to gain information regarding the details of Civil Services examination and career prospects after graduation especially the preparation required to get success.

Summary of the Activity/Event:
This program was as an initiative from the Department of Electrical Engineering in bringing forth like minded students in the form of an organization.
The students along with the parent Rotary club of Pune Metro and staff coordinators under the guidance of H.O.D. had a formal induction & charter hand over session. The dias was shared by eminent personalities like Mr. Jejurikar, Mr Makarnad Tillu and more.

- Students got organized in the form of a group under the name Rotaract club of Electrical Engineering, MCOE metro
- Students got knowledge about various aspects of life in which one can create his/her career.
- The students also pledged to be a part of the constructive leadership which will help in building the society into a better place to live.

Progressive Education Society’s, Modern College of Engineering, Pune in association with Rotary Club of Pune Kothrud has organized Digital India Public Speaking Contest followed by Pro-Start Inauguration under Entrepreneur Development Cell on 29/09/2017. Mr. Sharad Deshpande was felicitated by Hon. Principal, Dr. Mrs. K. R. Joshi, to express gratitude towards taking initiative in formation of Rotaract Club of ENTC MCOE.

Arogya Vyakhyanmala : Women Empowerment |

To create awareness among women regarding the importance of being self-reliant and staying empowered.

Summary of the Activity/Event :
The programme commenced in the presence the dignitaries Rtn. Mrs. Gauri Shikarpur, Rtn. Mr. Ashok Bhandari, Mr. Milind Biwalkar and Rtn. Mr. Sharad Deshpande. This was followed by handing over of the badges by the ex-BODs to the New BODs. The ex-BODs were appreciated for their work by awarding certificates to them at the hands of the guest. Mr. Bhandari in his speech highlighted that why it is important for students to enrol with the Rotaract club. Mr. Biwalkar, the Youth director of Rotary club threw light on how important the contribution of the youth towards social welfare via platforms like Rotaract is.
The Guest speaker Mrs. Gauri Shikarpur used the medium of audio visual clippings to convey the essence of her speech which was primarily focused on how women should fight for their rights by making themselves self-reliant.

Outcomes :
The speech was quite effective in generating a sense of motivation among the girl students present and it also inculcated a spirit of self-reliance so that the women can live in society with dignity free from discrimination.

Summary of the Activity/Event :
The Tree Plantation Program has been planned by parent Rotary Club on Tree Hill Point, Shindewadi (ahead of Katraj), Pune at 9:00 am. The members from Rotaract club of ENTC MCOE have been joined this programme as a one of the team. The programme commenced at 10 am. In addition to the Rotaract club of ENTC MCOE other 7 teams from each parent Rotary Club were present for plantation. Total 10 saplings were planted at Tree Hill point and pictures have been taken by team members. The activity was conducted with tremendous enthusiasm and concluded with a group photograph taken with the entire team at 12:00 pm.

Outcomes :
This activity helps to imbibing a sense of awareness regarding the threats to the environment due to air pollution and the importance of protecting the environment on our level.

Objectives :
To facilitate Rotaract members from other countries and highlight environmental issues during Ganpati Visarjan Ceremony.

Summary of the Activity/Event :
The members and BODs of Rotary Club of Sinhagad Road, Rotaract Clubs of ENTC MCOE, Sinhagad and Sinhagad COE Wadgaon (Bk) have gathered near the Tambdi Jogeshwari Temple, Appa Balwant Chowk and the procession of the prestigious Kasba Ganpati Visarjan began. RYE (Rotaract Youth Exchange) students from Brazil, USA and Argentina were also present dressed in traditional Maharashtrian styles. The procession continued with tremendous enthusiasm and concluded at the square near Alka Talkies.
The ceremony also served a social cause. All the Rotaractors held banners conveying various important ideas to minimise or prevent any environmental damages due to celebration of festivals.

The ceremony successfully brought about interaction of Rotaractors from various countries and created social awareness.

River Cleaning Activity |

To inculcate team-spirit and make students aware of the importance of cleanliness of water bodies.

Summary of the Activity/Event :
The river cleaning was held at the Sant Tukaram Bridge, Rave, Pimpri-Chinchwad of Pune. The water hyacinth over the surface of the Pavana river was removed jointly by the BODs of Rotaract Club of ENTC MCOE, Pune. Their information regarding life cycle water hyacinth was given to all BODs. The activity was graced by the participation of Professional Indian rifle shooter Anjali Bhagwat who further inspired the Rotaractors to keep working in this direction. All BODs of Rotaract Club of ENTC MCOE were actively participating in river cleaning along with other Rotary clubs and NGOs.

Outcomes :
This activity creates awareness among the students regarding preservation of our water reservoirs and provides them actual practical experience.
