Summary of the Activity/Event

The session began with a formal introduction of the guest Mr. Aditya Adavi, which was given by student representative, Umesh Marnethe. Honorable Principal Dr. Mrs. K. R Joshi madam, and alumni coordinator Dr. Mrs. S. D Borde madam also shared their views about the guest alumni. Mr. Aditya Adavi started the session with a short introduction about his college life, his industrial experience and he got into the most emerging field of today’s time – IoT. The speaker not only introduced the key features, stack in IoT and edge computing technology but also, he shared his experience about the current work he is doing in the field. Moreover, he also imparted the knowledge to the students about Machine Learning (ML), User Experience (UX), Artificial Intelligence (AI) – the fields which are necessary for the students to study as they are need of the hour. He concluded his session by telling the students the importance of higher education, and how it can boost their career to great heights. The enthusiastic participation by students was shown by the long question answer session in the last. Students liked the session very much and given good feedback.

Outcome

Students were made aware about the current technologies in the field of IoT – Machine Learning (ML), Big Data, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the importance of higher education.

Summary of the Activity/Event

The session began with the welcome of the Guest Alumni, Honorable Principal Dr. Mrs. K. R Joshi, HOD E&TC Dr. Mrs. R. S. Kamathe and alumni coordinator Dr. Mrs. S. D Borde. Then the formal introduction of Mr. Rajendra Thakurdesai with glimpse of the topic of session was given by student representative Omkar Khare. The speaker started the session with a short introduction about his journey, the decision of opting E&TC branch and its various domains. The speaker not only introduced the key features of each domain but also explained how to get into it. “Do what you enjoy and not what’s currently hot” with this he explained the job aspirants to focus on their area of interest rather to follow what’s trend in market. Following this he started explaining the opportunities in top product based companies. With different job roles in ‘FAANG’ he also explained the work culture in Facebook & Amazon. With this, different upcoming domains and interview process in product based companies was beautifully elaborated by him. At the end, speaker cleared each and every doubt of students in detailed.

Outcome

Students were made aware about the opportunities in ’FAANG’, upcoming technologies in the field of Machine Learning (ML), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the importance of increasing the skillsets.

SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

The event had an informative discussion with current students regarding the carrier opportunities in the business analytics sector. The event was graced by the Alumnus Mr. Vivek Kandekar. He gave a brief information about the branches of business analytics, understanding source of data and then sorting data through large data sets. He covered plenty of examples associated with big data and analytics. Sir, motivated student to understand importance of modelling. He talked about importance of analyzing the data objects and their relationship to the other objects. A question answer session gave many tips for bright future. The students learned about avenues in analytics and its perks in upcoming world. The perfect dialogue between Mr. Vivek Kandekar sir and students boosted confidence.

  • The speaker gave an overview of APPIUM which is a freely distributed open source mobile application UI Testing framework.
  • He explains the use and working of Appium testing Framework. It offers cross-platform application testing, i.e. single API works for both Android and iOS platform test scripts Arc.
  • APPIUM has a framework or wrapper that translates Selenium Web driver commands into UI Automation (iOS) or UI Automator (Android) commands depending on the device type, not any OS type.

  • Program started with congratulatory by applause for the winning team of CSI InApp project competition. The team secured first place at National Level.They also shared their valuable guidance on how they selected their project topic from the domain of interest and how progressed to the final product.

    A session on 'Applications of Numerical and Statistical Methods' was conducted by Mechanical Engineering Student Association (MESA) through online mode. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Mandar Gadgil (Research Engineer, Oneirix Labs). The session was attended by third year mechanical engineering students and a faculty member. The guest speaker was initially introduced by the anchor. He started off his talk by brushing up the fundamentals of Numerical and Statistical Methods. He put forth a problem statement regarding a partially filled container. With the aid of basic geometrical and NSM concepts, he then went on to come up with a solution to find the filled height of the container. The NSM based solution included iterative and Newton Rhapson methods and he demonstrated its usage in coding through a software called Octave. In the end, he gave several extensions to the problem like horizontal cylinder with a hemispherical rod, frustum of a cone, etc. After addressing a few questions from the students, the session was concluded with the vote of thanks

Mr. Mundhe spoke about how the various technologies used in IoT. He gave students an idea about the Arduino board how it is used. Basic language used - C . He showed various prototypes of cars also his own projects - Jal Kachra Bot and VESBOT. Mr. Yash spoke on the aspects of blog writing. He shared the link of his blog- Philosophers Story with the audience. He started the session by explaining the difference between a Tech oriented blog and Philosophy based blog. He guided the students on how to start their own blog as follows- i) select a niche area ii) decide the audience they want to reach out to iii) how to construct the blog iv) promote it and get feedbacks. He encouraged the students to start writing on whichever area they wish to without the fear of failure.
