ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

UG Course: B.E. (E&TC)

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is established in the year, 1999. Department intake has been increased to 90 students in 2006 and to 120 students in 2008 and recognised as Research Centre of Savitribai Phule Pune University since 2012-13. Department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) twice for three years (2019-20 to 2021-22 and 2022-23 to 2024-25). Department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. Department takes consistent efforts to develop competent engineers, well versed in multidisciplinary field.

Industry institute collaboration is established in the form of various MOUs (Memorandum of Understandings) with leading technical firms. Being involved in various technical and professional society activities like IEEE, ISTE and IETE, gives the faculty members an edge in organizing activities throughout the year, which gives the students excellent exposure to emerging trends in the Industry. TEESA (Telecommunication Electronics Engineering Student Association) takes utmost care in familiarizing and equipping students to be prepared for their professional life by organizing various activities such as group discussion, guest lectures, aptitude test, mock interviews, etc.

A well-equipped Departmental Library contains more than 1400 technical and non-technical books, technical CDs, question papers, magazines and data manuals available for ready reference and are regularly used by students. The e-resources like Science Direct (Elsevier), JGate, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), CMIE (Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy), DELNET, ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), e-books package are available at department for easy access.

The department organizes regular project and paper presentation competitions to encourage students to hone their technical skills. The institutional Robotics Club, started under the aegis of the department, continues to win laurels at various levels of Robocon Competition. The department regularly participates in various social outreach programs under Rotaract Club of ENTC MCOE, ISR and NSS. Wall magazine is a medium for the students to express their creativity. Wall Magazine Club is formed by the students of Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. It includes technical articles, scientific news, industry developments, students’ achievements, short stories, riddles, inspiring quotes, sketches and other news.

PG Course: M.E. (E&TC) (Signal Processing)

In tune with our endeavour to remain abreast with the current technological trends, a course in M.E. (E&TC) - Signal Processing was introduced in the year 2010.

PG section regularly organizes various technical activities in collaboration with Industries and IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapter, Pune Section such as Signal & Image Processing Project Competition, industry visits, seminars, guest lectures and workshops on MATLAB, NS2 & 3, LabVIEW, SciLab etc. Technologies like VLSI, Embedded system, Advanced Digital Signal and Image Processing, Computer Vision, has helped to mould quality engineers required in today's competitive environment. PG students have won prizes in Project and Paper presentation competitions and have published papers in National / International Journals and Conferences.

Research Centre

The Department has been recognized by Savitribai Phule Pune University as a Research Centre since 2012-13. The objective of the Research Centre is to provide a platform for researchers. The department encourages the staff to enhance their technical qualifications by registering for Ph.D. under the guidance of various experts who are part of our extended research team. Apart from this a large number of staff members are currently pursuing their Ph.D. thereby making the department a hub of technical and educational activities.
