Objective

  • To experience hassle-free assistance regarding the admission procedure or admission related enquiries from anywhere avoiding crowd at the college

Summary Report

  • During the pandemic which the entire world was facing, the crowd management and social distancing during the admission procedure and addressing the enquiries was a major issue.
  • In-order to address these issues we created a chatbot on the most widely used and most user-friendly platform WhatsApp. SAYRY The WhatsApp chatbot can answer many queries related to the admission procedure allowing the students and parents to solve their queries from anywhere at their ease.
  • SAYRY also auto corrects all the spelling mistakes done by user so that the parents or the students don’t have to wait. SAYRY is also partially multi-lingual. It can currently answer many questions asked in Devanagari script. It is so intelligent that it can even answer one-word questions.
  • This idea was also appreciated by Higher Technical Education Minister of Maharashtra, Honorary Mr. Uday Samant.

Outcome

SAYRY The Admission Assistant has been successfully installed and is operational 24x7 to give assistance regarding the admission procedure or for admission related enquiries

Brief description of activity:

Induction to expose students to the “Start-up culture” was given by a brief online talk of 30 minutes by Prof. Mayuresh Kulkarni on 22nd February 2021 to interested students from all divisions. Students were motivated to write the “Out of box” ideas for possible start-ups in the future and submit them in the prescribed format with all necessary details. 120 teams of students submitted various start-up ideas by email in the prescribed format in MS-word file. Format contained, detailed description of idea, seed funding plan, justification of idea, technical details, and execution plan.

Brief description of activity:

Out of 120 start-up ideas submitted by teams of students were scrutinized by internal experts of “MCOE ED-Cell” and “TechnoPhysics Club” and top 9 ideas were selected for the PPT presentation. In this activity each selected teams prepared PPT presentation and delivered before the external evaluator from the industry and accomplished entrepreneur Mr. Nachiket Kulkarni from Wipro Pvt. Ltd. From this final round, 3 teams were selected as winners.

    • The speaker explained about global scenario of climate change and how principles of Gandhiji is relavant for the current era to mitigate energy crisis of the world, basics and advanced concepts of temperature, Humidity and monitoring it with help of microcontroller.
    • About 100 students attended the workshop.
