Activities conducted under ITSA in A.Y. 2022-23 SEM I

1) Title of the Activity: Celebration of Engineer’s Day(What IT  Industry Needs)

    Type of Activity: Guest Lecture

   Date of conduction: 19/9/22

   Description:

The Information Technology Student Association (ITSA) organized a guest session to celebrate “Engineers’ Day”.The program commenced with welcoming of the guest  Mr. Sunilsingh Rajput, MD (cloud first unit lead for Northeast, US and Canada), Accenture India,  by the HOD of Information Technology Department, Dr. Prof. Mrs. Sarita Deshpande. After commencement of the program students who participated in the event “Smart India Hackathon” (SIH) were felicitated by Mr. Sunilsingh Rajput. The program gained momentum when Ms. Vaishnavi Kulkarni gave a short introduction of our chief guest. Mr. Sunilsingh Rajput delivered a beautiful session regarding time management, current IT trends and how these are crucial years for the students to develop their technical skills. Students of SE and TE IT were delighted to have such a great personality to guide them. After our guest’s talk, students who participated in the Smart India Hackathon shared their experience with the audience. Lastly, the vice-president of ITSA, Mr. Vedant Modak delivered the vote of thanks and concluded the event.

2) Title of the Activity: Celebration of Teacher’s Day

    Type of Activity: Life Skill Activity

     Date of conduction: 6/9/22

  Description:

This celebration was on account of Teachers Day under Information Technology Student Association.TE Students has Organized a program where they have exhibited  their talents like singing dancing All the teachers of department of IT are felicitated  .On the occasion of Shishak Parva this year students has performed skit on “Role of a Teacher in inculcating human Values in student”. Celebration ended with guidance from HOD IT Dr.Prof.Sarita Deshpande.

3) Title of the Activity: “Psychometry for self-development- Mann ki baat”

    Type of Activity: Life Skill Activity

    Date of conduction: 2/8/22

   Description:

 Dr.S.D.Deshpande, HoD (IT) welcomed to Dr. Nagesh Rajopadhye by briefing about his detailed introduction. Sir started his session by giving the explanation about the psychology of the current generation and how to handle the different situation? He conducted the test by providing the url www.emindit.com. Students enjoyed the questions that were asked on the website. The analysis of the report will be shared on students’ personal mail id. He expressed his gratefulness towards IT department for giving an opportunity or communicating with the students and conducting for this test. He also added students should be able to communicate without any ambiguity and clarity. The session ended by the vote of thanks given by Mrs.Swapna Bhavsar.

1) Title of the Activity: Yoga workout for tomorrow

Type of Activity: Life Skill Activity

 Date of conduction: 22/1/22

  Description:

The session on “Workout with Yoga for Healthy Tomorrow” was started by Mr.Shantanu Pawar. He started the session with the introduction and presentation of a merged yogasana video of students. Sir demonstrated Suryanamaskar. After the Suryanamaskar session Mrs .Swapna Bhavsar madam demonstrated different yogasana and she also elaborated the uses of each yogasana.At the end of the session, Mr.Shantanu Pawar sir concluded the session after question and  answer.

2) Title of the Activity: SE Orientation Program

Type of Activity: Curricular Activity

 Date of conduction: 31/1/22

 Description:

Prof. Mrs. Mukta Jamage welcomed all the students, respected Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Mrs. S. D. Deshpande and all Faculties of SE for the Program. Students are briefed about the vision-mission of the department, SE syllabus structure, regular activities, Placement Activities conducted by the department and mentor mentee system of the department. She also briefed students about the importance of project and project-based learning. Madam further explored departmental efforts in project and project-based learning. At the end madam has discussed the importance of training and placement and guided students about skills required for campus selection. Prof. Ms. Poonam Rakibe asked students to join the subjects G-classroom and provided general guideline to students.

  Description:

On the occasion of International Women's day an online session was conducted by department of Information Technology .Ms.Prerana Joshi who has expertise on the same topic guided all the faculty Members about the same and explained Importance of Mental Health.

  Description:

Prof. Dr. Mrs. S. D. Deshpande (H.O.D. IT Dept.)  was the chair person.  She addresses FE (IT) students. She also explains professionalism in the perspective vision and mission of department.

  Description:

Under ITSA   an online orientation program for DSE students was conducted where students who are new to the department are introduced to all the staff, syllabus, exam patterns, training & placement ,Activities conducted under our department etc.

4) Title of the Activity: Session on Gender Equity

Type of Activity:  Extra Curricular Activity

 Description:

Department of Information Technology organized online session on “Gender Equity” under the ITSA. This was conducted for SE students. The main objective behind this session is to build awareness in student about the Gender Equity. During this session speaker Mr. Gourav Sontakke explained what is Gender Equity?, What is difference between Gender equity and Gender equality? How gender equity is carried out in IT industry. Overall this session was valuable for all the students.

5) Title of the Activity: Womens Day celebration

Type of Activity:  Life Skill Activity

  Description:

 

The Wellness Talks provided  great opportunity on occasion of women’s day to students, faculty members and parents to listen to expert from Dr. Pooja Shetty (MD Ayurveda),  the founder of Ayushyaveda Clinic. Dr. Pooja Shetty is  from both holistic and allopathic disciplines sharing personal experiences and professional therapies for health and happiness.

6) Title of the Activity: Session on Data Analytics

     Type of Activity:  Co-curricular

      Date of conduction: 17/03/2021

     Description:

Mr.Bhaskar Deshmukh  elaborated that analytics is the use of statistical algorithm to explore, understand and analyze the data. Day to day examples of analytics like span mails, google search, weather prediction etc are described by guest speaker. At the end of the session, sir explained application of analytics in business. 7) Title of the Activity: Session on Angular Coding Style

     Type of Activity:  Co-curricular

      Date of conduction: 23/03/2021

     Description:

 

To get the basic knowledge about the angular framework this session was conducted. In this session guest speaker Mr. Ram Moharil had focused on the following key factors of angular framework.

•    Exposure to Angular

8) Title of the Activity: Session on Introduction to Embedded C & PIC Interfacing  

Type of Activity:  Co-curricular Activity

    Date of conduction: 30/03/2021

     Description:

Mr.Shidhar Dudam sir explained all important concepts of Embedded C programming Language also explained advantages of Using this language for Pic controller programming. Along with that sir explained Pic interfacing concepts of Analog to digital converter and DAC etc. Students learbed advantages of of usage Embedded C programming Language  for PIC programming as well as  PIC Interfacing Concepts.

9) Title of the Activity: Session on Secret of Breath

    Type of Activity:  Co-curricular Activity

     Date of conduction: 8/05/2021

     Description:

An energetic session is conducted by Smita Khavate on the topic Secret of breath and meditation. It was arranged for all IT faculties in order to know the importance of breathing and meditation in day-to-day life. The speaker shared her knowledge about breathing.     Date of Conduction: 31/8/20 to 5/9/20

  

   Description:

Every individual day from the one week workshop was divided into two sessions. Among that, the first session of two hours is a speaker series by a guest speaker from Industry or from Academics. Guest speaker touched technical and non-technical subjects. After the guest speaker’s valuable session, the internal faculty delivered a technical session and conducted hands-on practice on C++ Programming. The purpose behind the hands-on session is to bridge the gap between the syllabus and the concepts which are mandatory to continue with the challenging problem statements from or other than the routine syllabus.

6) Title of the Activity: Celebration on “Teachers Day”

Department of Information technology has organized a session on “Fourth Generation Industry Evolution” to provide guidelines on Project Based Seminar. Guest speaker Mr. Akshit Verma started session and briefed about Fourth Generation Industry Evolution. Then he explained about Artificial Intelligence and Its importance in coming years also he discussed various projects ideas related with AI.

3) Title of The Activity: International Womens Day: Mind Developement

     Date of Conduction: 11/03/2020

  

      Description:

This celebration was on account of Women’s Day. It was arranged for all ladies faculties in order to know the importance of yoga and acupressure points in day to day life. The guest speaker Mr.N.M.Lokhande and Mrs. Lokhande are yoga trainers and have huge experience of conducting yoga classes. Both of them shared their knowledge about different forms of “Yogasana” with their respective advantages. They also explained an importance of acupressure points of hand and leg. They also suggested practicing yoga daily for at least 30 minutes give us lot of benefits. Sir explained an importance of acupressure points which give benefits of relieving stress, tension and anxiety, improving sleep.

4) Title of The Activity: Energetic session on women’s day

 Description:

Event is organized by a team of students from class SE – A. The event started with an introduction. Mr. Siddhant introduced about the event. Inspirational speech about women from diverse fields is given by Mr. Atharva then Ms. Shreya and Ms. Zarafshan presented two beautiful songs. Mr. Yash gave pledge to all students and staff members to honour and respect the diverse role of women. He guided about steps for getting pledge certificate from ‘pledge.mygov.in’ portal, by Ministry of Women and Child Development. The event took place in the presence of respected HoD Madam, Mrs. S. D. 1) Title of The Activity: International Yoga Day

   

     Type of Activity: Co-curricular Activity

 Description:

 

This celebration was on account of 5th International Yoga Day. It was arranged for all students and all faculties in order to know the importance of yoga in day to day life. The guest speaker Ms.Rajshree Karande has done her certification from Yoga Vidya Dham Gurukul, Nashik. She has 3 years of experience of conducting yoga classes. Ms. Janhavi Kulkarni is Yoga teacher. Both of them shared their knowledge about different forms of “Yogasana” with their respective advantages. They also demonstrated “Suryanamaskar” and different forms of yogasane. Students enjoyed session by doing surynamsakar and yogasane. They also suggested practicing yoga daily for at least 30 minutes give us lot of benefits.

    Description:

Orientation Program was organized for  second year students by the department Of Information Technology .Students were also informed about progressive education society and founder Late Kanitkar Guruji and present chairman Dr.Gajanan Ekbote.

    Description:

Orientation Program was organized for third year students by the department of Information Technology Ms. Yogita Fatangare welcomed all the students, respected Head of the Department Mrs.S.D.Deshpande and all Faculties of Our Department for the Program. Mrs.Sampada Kulkarni, Academic coordinator ,IT Department  briefed Students about thesyllabus,coursestructure,ProgramStructures,CourseOutcomes,ProgramOutcomes,PSO’s,PEO’setc.Ms.Rajashree Sadaphule ,Exam In Charge ,IT department Informed students about theory In-semester, End semester, practical, oral exam as well as exam patterns and probable dates. 4) Title of The Activity: SE Workshop TechAarambh

    

    Type of Activity: Co-curricular Activity

 

     Date of Conduction: 19/8/2019 to 23/8/2019

     

    Description:

 

Objective of program is to build foundation of SE students in various aspects like Technical, Non-technical and Interpersonal Skills.Various events like following were conducted:

Day 1: A Spark to Tech-Aarmbh Tech-Aarambh 2k19 started with Inaugural function by Dr.Nagesh Rajopadhye, Associate Director,Accenture. He addressed students about recent trends in industry and project management. In 2nd session students experienced Hands-on session on IOT by Prof.Mr.Mandar Kulkarni and Prof.Mr.Digvijay Patil.

 

Day 2: A Foundation to placement started with session on Time Management by Mrs.Kanchan Dixit where students learnt various tips and tricks for time management. Later in Communication skill by ms.Shweta Premchandani students were addressed for do’s and don’ts in communications. Session 3 was conducted by internal faculty Mrs.Suhasini Bhat for practicing GD.

 

Day 3: A Gateway for Abroad Opportunities started with session on psychology of programming by Mr.Tushar Kute followed by session on “Industry expectations from students” by Alumini of department Sai Kale. In afternoon session students faced a programming test prepared by Mrs. Sampada Kulkarni, Ms. Supriya Jagtap.

                          Last session of the day was about Career and Job opportunities in JAPAN where Mr.Komori Shinichiro and Mr.Ulhas Acharya addressed students about how to prepare themselves for getting admissions in WASEDA University, Tokiyo and benefits of it for getting job aboard.

 

 Day 4:  Joy of Learning A joyful learning started with lesson “Unleash the Unstoppable” by Mr.Nadeem Kazi, a Corporate trainer. Students felt motivated by his words. Later Mr.Ashok Pattaar helped students on Mind Mapping tricks to make learning easy and enjoyable. In afternoon session Mrs.Sahisani Bhat and Ms.Poonam rakibe conducted various team building games for students which helped them to create a bond between pears.

 

Day 5: A day with Nature In morning session Mr.Santosh Iralapalle talked about benefits of “Natural Farming” and opportunities for engineers in this field. Later in the day we moved to Bavdhan Hill for tree plantation activity with UFLC team members. Students enjoyed a lot and decided to take care of the plants further in future too.

    Description:

Traditionally clay was used to make Ganesh idols. Over the yearsPlaster of Paris (PoP) which is lighter and cheaper ,has become the favored material to mould these idols. POP contains chemicals such as gypsum, sulphur, phosphorus and magnesium. Earlier idols were quite small ,today a spirit of competitiveness pervades the celebrations, so that the idols are becoming increasingly colossal.

Our goal was to save marine lives and the environment by adopting eco-friendly Ganesha Idols as an alternative to the harmful Plaster of Paris (PoP) Ganesha idols which are widely used during the Ganesha festival. To achieve this goal IT department organized eco-friendly clay Ganesha making workshops.

6) Title of The Activity: Teacher’s Day Celebration

     Date of Conduction: 05/9/2019

      

    Description:

An event was arranged for the Celebration of Teacher’s Day in IT department by the ITSA team.  Students performed special cultural programs like dances and skits for their teachers to make them happy and feel special in every way possible. After that, Fun activities were arranged which were appreciated by the teachers. Refreshments were served. All the teachers were then presented with Coffee Mug as a token of appreciation from the students.

1)Title of The Activity: Project Selection: Industry Aspects

    Description: This seminar was for how students can select recent project domain of their interest for final year project. How to select problem to solve as project. This was explained with the help of real-life problems. One group activity was conducted for problem statement designing. At the end of activity each group was ready with pne problem and its solution, also identified domain and required technologies. Session was conducted by summary of list of available domains, sponsorship opportunities in AI, ML and NLP.

 

 

 

2)Title of The Activity: Women’s day celebration

    Description:

Activity related to appreciation of all the cleaning staff of MCOE.IT department 8th March is officially celebrated as International Women day. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions. On account of that, IT department has initiated a social awareness activity and has arranged breakfast for them and their work towards department and institute. Department motivated all the ladies for their dedicated, sincere and hardworking attitude towards the society.

3)Title of The Activity: Virtual Lab Awareness and Its Registration

  Description:

Department of Information Technology of Modern College of Engineering Pune-05, organized a workshop on “Virtual Lab Awareness and Its Registration”. This session was organized for Students and faculties of MCOE at PL1, PL2,SL1 and SL2 laboratory of the IT department. The session was conducted by Prof.S.D.Deshpande and Shreyasi S.Paul. During session speakers explain the concept, use, requirement and necessity etc of Virtual Lab. Speakers also take the hands on registration process of virtual lab. The session was beneficial for all the staff members as well as for all the students.

1)Title of The Activity: 4th International Yoga Day

   

Type of Activity: Extracurricular Activity

 

 Date of Conduction: 21/06/2018

     

    Description:

This celebration was on account of 4th International Yoga Day. It was arranged for all students in order to know the importance of yoga in day to day life. The guest speaker Mrs. S. D. Deshpande shared her knowledge about different forms of “Yogasana” with their respective advantages. She suggested practicing yoga daily for at least 30 minutes. Mrs. Vandana Dixit demonstrated 5 forms of “Pranayama” and Mrs. Suhasini Bhat demonstrated “meditation” and explained it benefit to sharpen memory. Mrs. Swapna Bhavsar and Mr. Shantanu Pawar demonstrated “Suryanamaskar” and made students understand about its importance. The session ended by the vote of thanks given by Mr. Ajit Pathak.

2)Title of The Activity:  SE/TE/BE Orientation Program

  Description:

 

Students were also informed about progressive education society and founder Late Kanitkar Guruji and present chairman Dr.Gajanan Ekbote. Prof.Sampada Kulkarni, Academic coordinator IT Department briefed students about the syllabus, course structure, ProgramStructures,CourseOutcomes,ProgramOutcomes,PSO’s,PEO’setc.Ms.RajashreeSadaphule ,Exam In Charge ,IT department Informed students about online, theory, In-sem, Endsem, practical, oral exam as well as Theory exam patterns and probable dates. Students were informed about importance of regular study and attendance in class and defaulter list and punishment for defaulter students. They were further informed about NAAC, NBA accreditation process and benefits of possession of NAAC &NBA certification by the college

  Description:  Prof. Mrs. Sampada Kulkarni, Program coordinator ,IT Department  briefed Students about the one week online series, Program Structures, Program Outcomes, PSO’s, PEO’s etc. Students were informed about the attendance in online series sessions.Prof. Dr. Mrs. S. D. Deshpande, Head of the Department guided students and  gave her valuable words for leading  the successful engineering  and assured students to get all the support from department .she also discussed about pandemic situation and importance of online study with students. 1.)Title of the Activity:Orientation Program for SE, TE and BE students.

Description:

The Orientation started with the overview of syllabus by Prof. Mrs. Sarita. D. Deshpande madam, Head of Department(IT). Madam explained various types of activities conducted in department to improve the skills of students in different fields. Prof. Mr. Chandrasekhar. A. Ghuge sir explored more on different clubs and objectives of each club. Sir also elaborated more on curricular and co-curricular programs available to students to explore their talents.  Prof. Mrs. Sampada. A. Kulkarni madam elaborated on each semester's theory subject and importance of practical subjects by linking with industry standards. Prof. Mrs. Sarita. D. Deshpande madam delivered a talk on project completion and tips to  prepare for interviews. The last part was related to question and answer where all the queries of the students were solved. Overall the session was very helpful and knowledge providing for students.

Description:

Guest Lecture  on Routing and switching was started at 9-00 am in classroom 324 for TEIT students on date 24/02/18. Our Guest Mr Tushar Rane, Asso. Professor, PICT, Pune ,was felicitated and the session was started.

Mr. Tushar Rane mainly focused  on the assignment of IOT which is newly added into SL-IV (TEIT[2015]) syllabus and  explained it briefly.

Contents beyond the syllabus like redistribution between routing protocols like OSPF and EIGRP as well as VLSM also elaborated and  explained the basic concepts of routing and switching.

IT A students. The guest lecturer, Mr. Yogesh Ranga holds a Master of Business Administration (Marketing) from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia. However he has a long experience of 8 years in Sales and Marketing.In the lecture, Mr. Yogesh Ranga explained the education in different countries. He enlightened the students by explaining them for the preparation of GRE, ILTES exams and how to apply for different universities.

Description:

A guest lecture was organised to mark the occasion of Engineer’s Day in the IT department by the ITSA team. The guest of honour for the event was Mr. Vivek M. Hirpathak Sir. The event commenced with the Saraswati Vandana.         Following the introduction, Mr. Vivek Hirpathak started his session on Career Guidance with a PPT as his aide. The session covered points regarding scope of pursuing higher studies for students after completion of their BE in India as well as abroad. He gave the audience insights about the upcoming fields in the IT and Computer Science sectors and employability.
