INTRODUCTION

Problem solving is the integral part of every student's requirement. It becomes miscellaneous, when it is practiced over and over. Computer Engineering Department's Brain Stormer's club, which exclusively aims at enriching these skills of our students.

Objective

  • To train the students for various aptitude tests.

Goals

  • To improve the aptitude skills of the students for placement in different companies and various competitive exams.

ACTIVITIES

Session on GRE preparation conducted by Jamboree Education.
Day & Date : 11.07.2018, Wednesday

Objectives :
  • To improvise student’s personality and encourage them to confidently decide their career
Outcomes :
  • Able to understand the structure of competitive exams like GRE
Summary report :
  • To improve the student’s performance and thinking level for the competitive exams, we have organized this session conducted by Mr. Devendra of Jamboree.
  • Around 80 students from both TE A and B division participated actively in this session.
  • The session’s duration was 2 hours. During the session’s following points were taught,
    • Introduction of different competitive exams like GRE, GMAT and GATE.
    • How to excel in these exams.
    • Various career options after Engineering.
    • Introduction about career changes in abroad.

  • A session on TCS campus placement was held on 31st of August 2018. Ms. Sharvari Gokhale & Ketaki Pathak was the speakers for the event. Students from BE Computer engineering attended the session. Speakers guided students for TCS campus placement preparation and presented the basic idea of the drive. Speaker explained some key points like aptitude test pattern, Technical and HR round, and skills required by TCS company. Speaker also conducts mock HR round for practice.   • A session on campus placement rounds was held on 11th of July 2018. Ms. Rutuja Bhatambrekar was the speaker for the event. Students from BE Computer Engineering attended the session. Speaker interacted with the students and presented the basic idea of campus placement rounds like Aptitude Test, Group Discussion, Technical and HR Interview. Speaker guided students for campus placement preparation, explained some key points like aptitude test pattern, Technical rounds, corporate work culture, and skills required for company.

Soft Skills & Development seminar

Objectives :
  • To give each student a realistic perspective of work & work expectations, to help formulate problem solving skills.
  • To guide students in making appropriate and responsible decisions.
  • To improve personal qualities & work ethic problem solving & other cognitive skills
Outcomes :
  • Students were able to gain information regarding the details soft skills & development & to improve soft skills.
Summary report :
  • The Department arranged soft skills & development seminar for students of B. E. Students.
  • The session began at the scheduled time by introduction of the guest speaker.
  • Speaker Mrs. Hiral Desai Explained regarding the soft skills in that all contents like how to communication, group discussion, making of resume, dress code & grooming. She also informed students regarding the improving skills.
  • She also mentioned the importance of soft skills.

  • Around 45 students from both BE A and B division participated actively in this session.
  • The session’s duration was for 7 hours daily.

  • Mr.Abhijeet Rana was the speaker for the event. Students from BE Computer Engineering attended the session. Speaker first explained the work profile in IT industry.
  • Suggested to give more emphasis on Development profile. Speaker explained core skills of business analysts, report automation, developing technical solutions to business problems, or to advance a company's sales efforts, begins with defining, analyzing and documenting requirements.
  • Speaker also share some key points that might help students like strand out, get sponsored, never stop learning, be assertive, confident etc.

  • Zensar started this Program as a part of CSR activity to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
  • In this, 250+ hours of soft-skills and technical training is given to the engineering student which is free of cost to the students as well as college.
  • It covered 5 days of soft-skills training, 5 days of RDBMS-SQL-PLSQL training,10 days of project based technical training mostly Core Java and 10 days of project based advance technical training.
  • In addition to this Zensar can conduct CRTP (Campus readiness training program) based on the need. Zensar also gave eLearning licenses from Udemy to selected students.

  • A student activity was conduted on 15th of February 2017. Ms. Prachi was the speaker for the event. Students from TE Computer engineering attended the session.
  • Ms. Milana Malvadkar, Faculty, Computer Engg., interacted with the students and told them the importance of communication skills, soft skills and aptitude skills in recruitment and competitive exams.
  • Ms. Prachi explained some key points and easy methods to solve the aptitude questions quickly.

  • Event was arranged to help students prepare for employer assessments, Learn what aptitude tests are, how to prepare and to practice online aptitude test questions.

Soft Skills Workshop

  • The Session lasted for 2 days with 5 hours per day
  • During this session, various communication ethics and practices were demonstrated.
  • A small activity was conducted for the students, which gave them the behavioural confidence.

  • Around 40 students participated actively in this session/workshop.
  • The session’s duration was 10 hrs. It has been conducted in parts four days with 2 and half hour.
  • Mr. Bakliwal discussed all the questions of the above mentioned topics, by giving tips on how to solve and explained the common mistakes that were made by students.

  • The questions were based on the second year engineering subjects like Discrete Structures, Digital Electronics, Data Structures, etc.
  • Team members after the test, precisely gave explanations for answers.
  • Marks were announced soon after the test.

Aptitude Test(T.E)
Day & Date : 07-01-2016 Thursday

Objectives : To prepare students for upcoming aptitude tests.
Outcomes :
  • Students got the feel and heat of aptitude test which they will face soon after their engineering.
Summary report :
  • Since this was the first Aptitude test difficulty level of questions was moderate.
  • There were two students at the first position with 19 marks out of 25.
  • Team members after the test, precisely gave explanations for answers.
  • Proper OMR sheets were provided to all the students.
  • Marks were announced soon after the test.
  • Around 50-60 students actively participated.

  • To improve the aptitude skills of the students
Outcomes :
  • Able to solve tricky questions.
Summary report :
  • SE & TE students gathered in the Seminar hall.
  • This activity was an aptitude test for which many people from S.E ant T.E participated.
  • A total of 40 multiple choice questions were put up on the projector.
  • Students had to write the correct option on their respective papers.
  • A highest score of 36 was obtained in the test.
  • The two students from TE who scored maximum marks are:
