INSTITUTE LEVEL ALUMNI MEET 2018

Objectives

To create awareness among current students about contribution of the Institute in their professional life through the success stories of various alumni.

To get up to date information about current status of alumni of the Institute.

To enhance the thought sharing among alumni of different batches with current students of the Institute.

To make an effort so that alumni can guide the students for projects, pursuing higher education, acquiring jobs, to become entrepreneur

Summary Report:

It was the first ever Alumni Meet organized by the Institute at huge scale and alumni up to batch 2010-11 were invited. The intention was to invite alumni of very initial batches of the Institute for visit and make them feel comfortable and satisfactory with progress and overall growth of the Institute. The preparations for this meet had begun almost two months ago. Respective departments' coordinators contacted their alumni, sent invitations and confirmed actual count of alumni who would attend the function. There were around 120+ alumni who came for the function. It was very heart warming and emotional moment for everybody. Many of the alumni were meeting one another after so many years and sharing their old memories. All the alumni were asked for registration at respective department's desk to fill their details and then enter into society's auditorium. In auditorium, small function for the alumni was arranged. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. K. R. Joshi madam, Vice Principal Dr. Mrs. S. A. Itkar madam and Dr. Mrs. N. R. Kulkarni madam, Heads of all the departments, Alumni Cell In charge Mrs. S. D. Borde madam and coordinators were present along with alumni, faculty members and students. The function started with Eesh-stawan. As decided, there had a formal welcome of all the alumni present followed by felicitation of alumni as representatives of Institute's initial batches' pass out students. Few alumni viz. Vikramsingh Desai (Batch 2006, Mechanical), Abhijeet Bhate (Batch 2007, Computer ) and Gaurav Thalapathi (Batch 2004, E & TC) shared their views and memories of their college days with everyone. Their thoughts and views were truly motivating and emotional equally towards the Institute. After that, a small felicitation of NPTEL course toppers of current academic year was done from the hands of respected Principal madam. She then addressed all the alumni and delivered a progress speech of the Institute. She mentioned how this institute has made growth in every aspect of technology in diversified fields and continuously striving for excellence. She also emphasized on the role and expectations from Alumni, being one of the major stake holders and bridge between the Institute and Industry. All alumni responded positively for this point. A small video showing progress and growth of the Institute and students was played. The function ended with a beautiful cultural program that included folk dances and singing. All alumni were asked to go to their respective departments, where they met their faculty, friends. Alumni were shown the developments in the departmental labs and few noteworthy projects were explained by the students. A small get together took place with alumni in the department. Alumni shared their views regarding their contribution for departmental activities. Also many of them had shown willingness for offering project assistance, internships to the students and even offering jobs in their companies. There was a healthy dialogue among alumni, faculty and students regarding future plans to be executed at department as well as Institute level. Lunch was arranged for all the alumni at activity centre. Alumni spent enough time with their friends and faculty. A wonderful event ended successfully on pleasant and emotional note of various alumni.

Outcome :

Alumni were satisfied to see progress of the Institute. Alumni showed a positive response for guiding the students for various academic activities and about future plans. They are willing to help students in getting project sponsorships, guidance in pursuing higher studies, and also in placement related activities. Some of the alumni also showed interest in giving financial help to various initiatives started by the institute.
