PREAMBLE

Team Pegasus is a motorsports team of students formed under SAE Collegiate Chapter of PES's Modern College of Engineering. The team participates in various national and international competitions conducted by SAE and other national, International bodies. These competitions involve design, manufacture and testing of vehicles of various platforms under various test conditions. These competitions involve the practical implementation of the classroom concepts and make the students aware of real world scenarios and enable them to take on challenges they face. It helps build team spirit, character, camaraderie and develop social skills. These competitions are mentored and overseen by industry experts and this gives the students a chance to grow network and help in getting placement opportunities after graduation.Team Pegasus was formed at Mechanical Engineering Department in the year 2008-2009.
During last 5 years, Prof.P.G.Rasal, Prof.Y.A Kadam,Prof. S.V.Gosavi, Prof.R.M.Thakare, Prof.V.A.Yewalikar are looking after the various activities of teams under Pegasus by working as "Faculty Advisors".
For the overall development, students take part in various co-curricular & extracurricular activities. Through this club students participate in national & International level Competitions like-Baja, Supra, Go kart, Efficycle, TIFAN, Mega ATV etc.

Objectives of Club are :

1. To develop "Competitiveness" & "Technical Skills” through participation in national events like Baja, Supra, TIFAN, Mega ATV, Gokart being organized by SAE-India and other reputed bodies
2. To develop "Team work” through events like Baja, Supra, TIFAN, Mega ATV, Gokart.
3. To develop "Leadership" through organizing any of the technical activities.
4. To develop "Technical and Entrepreneur Skills”
5. To develop "Communication skills” through interacting with other students, even with outsiders while carrying out any of the activities.

Outcomes of Club are :

The members of team Pegasus will :

1. Be able to compete in events of international repute
2. Design, manufacture, test and compete with their vehicle while keeping in consideration their academic duties in a time bound manner.
3. Be good speakers, and be able to market their product and skills in front of a knowledgeable audience.
4. Be able to understand various manufacturing processes, advanced technologies and new concepts in the context of automobile engineering.
5. They will be able to work together cohesively as a single unit for achieving a common goal.
