Classroom Activity on “Gender Equality Awareness Program”

Objective : To raise awareness of gender stereotyping in our thinking.
About The Activity :
  • Department of Computer Engineering of Modern College of Engineering Pune-05, has organized Classroom Activity on “Gender Equality Awareness Program” for students of SE/TE/BE Computer engineering to understand Gender roles, Human rights and potential to contribute towards nation development irrespective of gender discrimination.
  • 35+ students have participated in this activity. Activity has started with Video on Women Empowerment Motivational Video | Gender Equality India. Followed by Quiz on Gender Equality.
  • At the end of the activity some students have expressed their opinion about Woman Empowerment, Improvement in India about Gender Equality Awareness etc.
Outcome :
Helps to Develop Positive Thinking among Students about equal opportunity to realize their full human rights and potential to contribute to national, political, economic, social and cultural development form both Woman and Men.

  • In This Session Speaker has Introduced functionality of Tableau tools; Also Speaker has shown Hands demonstration of How to Visualize data with advanced formatting setting, Build a variety of basic charts, how to connect to various data Sources and Build a variety of basic charts.

  • The main objective behind to arrange this session is to enhance the knowledge of students about industry needs. In this session speaker explained some concepts in AI and Augmented reality by taking real time examples and also explained what actual industry demands from students in this domain.He shared the experiences of working for real time machine learning applications. The session was valuable for all the students.

Summary of the Report: :
This year one day technical fest Code-Fiesta, under M-pulse 2020 was organized on 15th February 2020, which consisted of different technical and social events.
The inauguration of event was done by chief guest of Mr. Sethupathi Asokan, Co-founder and Director of Josh Software Pvt. Ltd, Pune. He further inaugurated departmental technical magazine ‘Technominatus’ followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony of the event.
There were total Six events conducted, namely
  • Pro-Googler: Participants were required to find answers of the provided questions by firing appropriate queries on google.
  • Tech Wizard: This event took the participants on a journey testing his skills on all broad domains of technology
  • Maze Coder: Participants were given a platform to play hangman of technical terms.
  • Crack’It: Participants were given different logos and were supposed to get the correct answers as soon as possible to crack this event.
  • Runtime Rummage: This event was Treasure Hunt based on mathematical or analytical clues and round 2 consisted of technical game based on Mahjong.
  • Social Event: This year the social event was Donation Drive to students of "Responsible Charity" an educational NGO. Donations were accepted in form of study stationaries, toys, books etc. The event was very well received.

  • Inculcation of moral values, team co-ordination as well as diligence.

  • Firstly, database of near about 50 questions is created, for this Moodle software is used.
  • Then students informed about the test scenario and schedule through notice displayed on notice board
  • Students followed the schedule and appeared for test which is taken on MOODLE software.
  • For SE Test is of 35 minutes and 35 questions are to solve.
  • For TE Test is of one hour and 50 questions are to be solved.
  • Students given test successfully and also get the result immediately after submitting the test.
  • Last but not least all above mentioned, test is conducted for both SE divisions and TE divisions.
This test activity can help identify the skills of students who are due for promotion. Students also help to create tailor-made training and development programs that will eventually nurture efficient programmers.

  • What motivation is required from management, faculty and other stake holders?
  • How to maintain consistency and interactions between Institutions Vision, Mission, PEO, PSO, and COs.
  • Detailed explanation of formation of Vision, Mission, PEOs, PSOs, COs and their mapping with each other.
  • Dr. U. P. Kulkarni also explained what are the criteria by which to make judgments and how profession and academia have to lay down requirements jointly.

OpenGL For Beginners

During the session students became aware about the OpenGL installation and code writing using OpenGL.Students have understood the importance of OpenGL and Career scope of the same & its applications for gaming, animation & movies. 50 students from SE-B( Shift-2) have attended the session.

Seminar on Cloud Computing and VMware

Objective:To aware students about cloud computing and VMware.
Outcome:Students are able to understand cloud computing and its applications.
Summary of the Activity/Event:

A Seminar was held on 10th of January 2017. Mr. Aftab Shaikh was the speaker for the event. Students from TE & BE Computer engineering attended the session. Speaker guided students for Cloud Computing, explained some key points like Introduction to Cloud Computing, Cloud Computing Types, Cloud Computing using VMware.

Career Guidance
Date & Day: 7th January,2017 Saturday
Objective:To make the students familiar with how the industry works and expectations of the industry from fresher.
Outcome:A very helpful and interactive session improving knowledge and thinking ability of students regarding IT Industries.
Summary of the Activity/Event:

The session was attended by 70+ students of SE. The session acquainted the students with the expectations of the IT Company and how the IT companies work. The students were also made familiar with various domains and designations available in an IT industry. The students are expected to have knowledge beyond the textbooks and interpersonal skills. Mr. Apte also shared his working experience with the students.

Life Skills Management by Subodh Deshmukh
Date & Day: 2nd and 3rd Jan 2017, Monday. Tuesday
Objective:To improvise student’s interview skills, developing and thinking process.
Outcome: A very interactive session improving the interview skills of students also making them aware of their Unique Selling Point (USP)
Summary of the Activity/Event:

The Session lasted for 5 hours. Ideal Interview behavioral and communication skills were told by speaker. During this session, an aptitude test was conducted. A small activity was conducted for the students, which gave them the importance of Team work. 100 students from SE & TE Shift-1 and Shift-2 attended the session.

Industrial Visit to C-DAC
Date & Day: Wednesday, 28th December 2016
Objective:To provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies
Outcome: The students got benefited in terms of the technical details provided by the company on an important features and structure of PARAM Supercomputer series.
Summary of the Activity/Event:

It was learning and knowledge gaining visit to this research center as the students got an opportunity to know more about Supercomputer "PARAM" and some technical aspects of that server and its current applications. The information was very much useful to the students in a professional manner. Total 93 students and 5 staff visited the campus. Students all the four staff members enjoyed the technical Endeavour at the company a lot. The company persons also appreciated our students after the question answer sessions.
