Modern college of Engineering, Pune is one of the leading institutes in country actively contributing to education and research in the fields of engineering. The Department has been recognized by University of Pune as Research centre since 2012-13. The objective of the Research Centre is to provide a platform for researchers in the field of applied innovations and to increase the knowledge base of faculty leading to overall development of institute. The research centre involves eminent researchers / experts from various fields in the research activity to enhance quality. The research Centre is well equipped with latest software such as MATLAB, NS3, LabVIEW, SciLab etc. We are keen to see that our research makes a difference. Numbers of post-graduate students have completed their studies with projects integrated with research.
Activities of the ENTC cell include
- Course work conduction as per the norms specified by the SPPU, for the PhD program.
- Consultation offered by faculty members on problems faced by industries.
- Organization of Refresher courses for Industries.
- Arranging expert lectures from industry & funding agencies.
- Recommending & forwarding for approval as well as financial aid from funding agencies for the project proposals submitted by faculty members.
- Research projects undertaken by a group of faculty.
- Sponsored projects by industries for U.G / P.G.
- Under the RPS – Research Promotional Scheme, BCUD – shortlisted and sanctioned the funds for the project of Dr. (Mrs.) Arati J. Vyavahare,( Prof-E&TC, PhD. Coordinator) as a Principal Investigator and the research work is going on under the same scheme.The purpose of the research cell is to create and maintain an excellent research culture and environment in which the faculties and students/research scholars in collaboration with industry partners or funding agencies collectively build intellectual capital for the benefit of all the stakeholders.
The center strives to provide academic inputs by eminent faculties, and excellent infrastructure in terms of laboratories, library and other facilities required for research and development activities along with collaboration with the Government, Research Funding Agencies and Industries.
The research center aims to promote and conduct research related activities for the overall development from a broad interdisciplinary perspective. To achieve this, various activities like National/International workshops, seminars, with the academicians and industrial delegates are organized for students, to discuss on specific topics from multifaceted angle.
The cell encourages research scholars to study different subjects and present/publish papers on specific topic duly supported by practical evidence.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the department actively contributing to Research and Development in the field of engineering. The Department has been recognized by the University as Research Centre since 2010-11. The objective of the Research Centre is to provide a platform for researchers in the field of applied innovations and to increase the knowledge base of faculty leading to overall development of institute. The research Centre is well equipped with latest softwares such as MATLAB, ANSYS 11.0, ANSYS 14.0 with CFD, MASTERCAM etc. The center is also equipped with open source tools such as Python, Arduino. We are keen to see that our research makes a difference.
Prof S. M. Ramnani has completed BCUD funded Research project. The project is about the installation of solar PV cells array of 3 kW capacity for charging UPS batteries. An array of batteries is getting charged by PV cells there by saving the electricity and indirectly controlling green house gases.

Under the umbrella of Progressive Education Society’s Modern College of Engineering, the research cell in MBA Department is constituted in the year 2012 vide Letter no.CA/3895, Dt. – 22/11/2012.
The purpose of the research cell is to create and maintain excellent research culture and environment in which the faculties and students/research scholars in collaboration with industry partners or funding agencies collectively build intellectual capital for the benefit of all the stakeholders.
The centre strives to provide academic inputs by eminient faculties, and excellent infrastructure in terms of laboratories, library and other facilities required for research and development activities along with collaboration with the Government, Research Funding Agencies and Industries.
The research centre aims to promote and conduct research related activities for the overall development from a broad inter disciplinary perspective. To achieve this, various activities like National/International seminars and workshops for students, academicians and industrial delegates are organized, to discuss on specific topic from multifaceted angle. Industrial visits and tours are conducted for students and staff to understand and correlate conceptual learning with the industrial environment.
The cell encourages research scholars to study different subjects and present/publish papers on specific topic duly supported by practical evidence.
